Why I am Thrilled to be a part of SEUT

“HECK YES!” with a huge level of excitement, optimism and energy was what I said to Sharon (Co-Founder with her husband Chris) of SEUT when they asked if I wanted to be involved with SEUT. As a consultant, everyday I’m working with organizations of all sizes that have a heavy reliance on technology. My work touches the intersection of marketing and data and technology is at the center of both of these. I am driven to help improve how organizations use technology and create and instill an ethical framework in people at an early age. 

I know that education changes the future and will change the future of those working in and leading our organizations. As technology continues to evolve at an extraordinary rate it has become more imperative to bring ethics into the discussion at an earlier age. Many highschools have programs teaching technology from classes in data science to coding. What seems to be missing is the ethics component to engage students in active research, thoughts and discussion around how technology can and should be used with a lens on morality and ethics. 

This is where SEUT steps into the equation.  SEUT offers curriculum, mentorship, scholarships and more that will help to engage our youth in the study of ethics in technology and create more informed and educated future leaders. I’m excited and honored to be a part of SEUT where we continue to push forward an important and needed educational component among our youth.
